Chapter 5 Basic Functions

This chapter mainly explains the basic functions and usage of the product and the use of basic software. This chapter is very important and should be read carefully in order. Before actually applying the robot, please make sure you understand the described operations correctly.

ER myCobot 280 Jetson Nano uses NVIDIA® Jetson Nano™ core development version as the main control, with built-in Ubuntu Mate 20.04 operating system. It does not need to be equipped with an additional PC main control. It can be used by directly connecting the display, keyboard, and mouse. It can be regarded as a miniature computer host. The host and the host cannot simply communicate through a single line. It can only be connected to an independent display, and equipped with a power supply, mouse, and keyboard, and then developed and operated after entering the built-in system of the development board.

Please follow the following chapters to learn the basic functions of the myCobot 280 JN version of the robot arm.

  • System Usage Introduction This section will briefly introduce the development environment of the myCobot 280 JN robot arm and the system built-in software.

  • System Basic Function Description
    This section will introduce the Ubuntu operating system and how to perform VNC configuration, network configuration and other operations.

  • Firmware Description This section will introduce the general hardware interface of the JN version robot

  • MyStudio Introduction The one-stop service platform myStudio integrates myCobot software resources and various materials, and supports firmware downloads and updates. Provides product usage video tutorials and maintenance/repair information.

  • TF card replacement tutorial and image burning This version of the robot comes with a 64G TF card, built-in Ubuntu20.04 system, myStudio firmware burning software, myBlockly graphical programming software installed, and adapted to python and ROS development environment. When the system is damaged due to improper operation or the settings are wrong and cannot be changed, you can re-burn the system image and restore the initial settings (SD card reader required)
